As the piece de resistance to the arduous task of hanging all that drywall, you’re now ready to apply some drywall texturing techniques to really pack a punch to your home decor plans. But which to use of the many methods available? We can’t answer that for you, but we can give you a few ideas. Read on to find out more.
What’s in a Name
Drywall texturing techniques, seemingly limited only by one’s imagination, run the gamut. There is the orange peel technique, the knockdown, sand swirl, slap brush, and cottage cheese techniques, just to name a few.
Paint sprayers can be messy, so the first of our airless paint sprayer tips includes learning to cover things up! Keep in mind that anything, and I mean Anything, that is left exposed will get paint on it. If you cannot move all furniture out of the room in which you are painting, move it at least three feet away from the walls and cover completely with plastic or painters drop cloth.
If you do not want to remove light fixtures and switchplates, you will need to cover them with masking tape. Paintings and any other wall decor need to be taken out.
Test for Pressure
If you are in a situation where you have a ceramic tile floor that needs replacing, you have a few options at your disposal. First of all, you can decide to take up all of the old tiling and replace it with a completely different type of flooring. However, if you already know that you would still like to use tiles but with a more modern look and design, you could save yourself a lot of time and effort by installing new ceramic tiles over the old ceramic tiles.
If you are going to install new tiles over old ceramic tiles, there is a little bit of preparation work that you will need to do. This preparation and planning will make the overall job much easier for you to do and it will give you more of a chance of success.
